Though Fox Searchlight has yet to think up a title for their upcoming family wedding movie, they were still able to land themselves a cast. Forest Whitaker, America Ferrera and Carlos Mencia have agreed to co-star.
Forest Whitaker, America Ferrera and Carlos Mencia Invited to Wedding
Rick Famuyiwa will direct the 'clash of cultures' comedy from a script he wrote. The story centers on two overbearing fathers (Whitaker, Mencia) who must put aside their differences to plan the wedding of their son and daughter (Ferrera) in less than two weeks.
Filming is expected to begin next month in Los Angeles, which should give Whitaker enough time to wrap up on Stallone's The Expendables. Keeping himself busy, the actor already has six films in the can and ready for release, including Where the Wild Things Are.
You can still catch Ferrera on TV with ABC's hit series, Ugly Betty.
Carlos Mencia, however, will be able to credit this movie as his first starring role in a feature. Not too shabby... for a stand-up comedian.
