Chace Crawford
Paramount Pictures has found their next Kevin Bacon with Chace Crawford. Now, I know that doesn't exactly make sense, but Chace will star in the remake of Footloose.
Chace Crawford for Footloose
Zac Efron was originally considered for Footloose, but doing another musical after so many musicals before it felt like typecasting. To switch things up, Efron instead signed up to star in The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.
Chace Crawford has stepped in to fill those twinkle shoes, in the remake that will be directed by Kenny Ortega.
Though the new remake is bound to be similar to the original version, Paramount does claim that this time the story will be more 'edgy' and 'mature'. Crawford does come from the mature series Gossip Girl, and the studio hopes he brought some targeted audience with him.
