Chevy Chase in a movie that goes back in time. Sounds about right. United Artists has picked up the actor to star in Hot Tub Time Machine, alongside John Cusack and Rob Corddry.
Chevy Chase for Hot Tub Time Machine
Directed by Steve Pink off a script by Josh Heald, Hot Tub Time Machine follows a bunch of unsatisfied guys who get thrown back to their younger days in 1987 via their Jacuzzi.
Chase plays a mysterious repairman who dispenses pearls of wisdom and may or may not be behind the metaphysical road trip. His casting has come just in time, as Hot Tub Time Machine is already filming in Vancouver.
Since Chase has been off the radar for some time, some are starting to see momentum going his direction. With a few cameos here and there, including one on Chuck, Chase is now in talks with The Weinstein Co. on the long-gestated Fletch sequel.
Not too bad for a guy who once felt abandoned by both Hollywood and his friends.
