Sigourney Weaver is looking to switch things up by going to comedy -- I loved her in Galaxy Quest, btw -- with not one but two projects. While she's guaranteed for Disney's You Again, I'm really hoping she signs onto Paul for Universal Pictures.
Sigourney Weaver for You Again and (Possibly) Paul
In You Again, Sigourney Weaver will star alongside Kristen Bell in a comedy that finds a way to combine high school and marriage. Bell will play a young woman who returns home for her brother’s wedding and is horrified to find he’s marrying her high school nemesis. Weaver will play the bride’s filthy-rich aunt. The film will be directed by Andy Fickman.
Sounds cute, I guess, but not nearly as good as Paul. Directed by Greg Mottola, Paul is a comedy about two sci-fi fans (Simon Pegg, Nick Frost) who come across an escaped alien (voiced by Seth Rogen) near Area 51 and try to help it escape. Considering that Weaver has toplined four Alien(s) films, the role seems like a perfect parody; even if it isn't.
