With The Proposal now out in theaters, Ryan Reynolds has decided that he it at least temporarily over cute romantic comedies and is instead trying something a bit darker. And when I say darker, I'm talking buried alive darker.

Ryan Reynolds has been cast to star in Buried, a film that will have him play a civilian contractor who's kidnapped in Iraq and awakens buried in a coffin in the desert, armed only with a cell phone, a candle and a knife.
Rodrigo Cortes will direct a script by Chris Sparling. Production is set to begin this month in Barcelona.
After doing The Proposal and Wolverine, Reynolds decided to go with the indie thriller to better show off his acting skills. With my copies of Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place in hand, I guess I can say that I know where he's coming from.
