Jason Statham continues to stick to what he knows best. After picking up a few thrillers, he figured why not one more with Blitz.

Lionsgate U.K. is fully financing Blitz, a London-set thriller about a serial killer targeting police officers. If the story sounds familiar, it should, as its an adaptation of Bruen's bestseller of the same name.
In the film, Statham will play a tough, uncompromising cop assigned the task of tracking down the killer. Paddy Considine has been cast to play his partner. Elliott Lester will direct off a script by Nathan Parker.
On August 10th, Blitz will be Lionsgate's first British project since they've announced their plans to beef up production in the UK. The studio already has a ton of familiarity with Statham, so the casting comes off as a sound move.
