It looks like Denzel Washington's patience has run out. After boarding Tony Scott's Unstoppable back in April, Denzel has decided to exit the production.
Denzel Washington Exits Unstoppable
According to sources close to the actor, Unstoppable was having problems leaving the station. Who to blame? 20th Century Fox actually. The biggest holdup was the confirmation of budget before the film's upcoming fall production start. With no progress in sight, Denzel decided to bounce out last week in order to find another project to keep him busy during the fourth quarter of 2009.
Now, there is still a chance that this film might get off the ground with Washington in tow. Desperate to keep him onboard, Fox has re-pitched the actor with an updated script and what I would think as an updated salary. Anything to make him re-consider his decision to leave.
I don't know though. Maybe after Pelham 123, Washington decided he wasn't game for another movie involving a locomotive. Just a theory, probably wrong.
