The Walking Dead
Let me open with a disclaimer. I have so much hostility towards AMC over the inability to watch Breaking Bad on OnDemand or online that I have absolutely no support of the network making another great series. On the other hand, I do like the idea of a zombie series. Teaming up with Frank Darabont, the network is hoping to adapt the comic The Walking Dead in hopes of turning it into a series.
The Walking Dead Gets a Series
AMC is close to finalizing the series adaptation and the network is already packing quite a punch. As you're already heard, Frank Darabont is involved, and Gale Anne Hurd of Valhalla Motion Pictures and David Alpert are already onboard to exec produce.
Penned by Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead is set among a group of zombie survivors of an apocalypse who are led by a police officer, Rick Grimes, in search of a safe place to live. Numerous editions of the graphic novel have been published since 2003.
AMC, who's shown just how much brass they got with Breaking Bad, promises to keep the series faithful to the original graphic novels.
"This is not about zombies popping out of closets," Stillerman said. "This is a story about survival, and the dynamics of what happens when a group is forced to survive under these circumstances. The world (in 'Walking Dead') is portrayed in a smart, sophisticated way."
