Zac Efron might get some company for Universal Pictures' The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, with the studio currently in talks with Kim Basinger to co-star.
Kim Basinger in Talks for The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud
Directed by Burr Steers off a script by Craig Pearce, The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud will have Basinger play the grieving mother of Efron's character, a caretaker at a cemetery who has weekly meetings with a younger brother whose accidental death he feels was his fault.
If you've been keeping up with the casting drama, then you already know that Efron exited the Footloose remake in order to reunite with Steers for this project.
Basinger has been more of a straight arrow of recent, and you can see her latest project this September with The Burning Plain, where she stars opposite Charlize Theron.
