Catching a breath from their Twilight franchise, which the studio is feverishly pushing along, Summit Entertainment has begun talks to acquire the distribution rights to The Beaver.
Summit Wants The Beaver
Directed by Jody Foster and starring Mel Gibson, The Beaver centers on a depressed man who finds solace in wearing a beaver hand-puppet. In addition to helming, Foster will play the role of the man's wife.
If the pairing of Foster and Gibson sounds familiar, the duo worked on screen together in Maverick. You know, back when Foster was hot.
The project is currently wrapping up its cast in order to get production rolling this September in New York.
