The third season of Heroes became unwatchable in the repetitive stories of Claire defying HRG’s protective secrets and ridiculous ones like Hiro regressing to childhood. However, on Blu Ray it remains a pretty show to watch and a high watermark for TV on Blu Ray. Maybe that’ll make the storylines easier to take, though I probably won’t put that to the test with all six discs.
Heroes: Villains on Blu-Ray
Heroes scenes are clear on Blu Ray. Season three’s settings of jungle and desert reproduce beautifully with sweaty grit and lush detail. Dark interiors hold up in low light. Even standard domestic settings show strong.
Detail is stunning from Claire’s wounds to shiny, sweaty skin and basic clothing fabrics. It looks like these images would in a major movie: a rustic farmhouse with brushstrokes in paint, dense wheat fields, cluttered comic book shops, dingy rebel hideouts, stark city streets and rooftops.... Occasionally you’ll see some grain that looks like film, not shoddy video. It is one of the only TV shows that actually looks like a movie on Blu Ray.
