Hancock
Okay, so Hancock wasn't remotely as good as we thought it could be. So what. The film somehow still made $624 million worldwide, and that's enough for any studio to move forward with a sequel. Getting the ball rolling, Columbia Pictures has hired scribes Adam Fierro and Glen Mazzara to pen the script.
Hancock Sequel Gets Writers
Though the plot is being kept under wraps, Adam Fierro and Glen Mazzara have confirmed that their job is to build upon the world laid down in Hancock.
If you didn't see the film, Hancock centers on a boozy, irresponsible superhero who undergoes an image makeover by a public relations man. It later is revealed that the hero is part of a line of immortal beings who have been around for more than 3,000 years and begin to lose their powers when in proximity to fellow immortals. It was actually a great idea, just implemented incorrectly.
While the first installment took 12 years to finally get into theaters, under the original title of Tonight He Comes, the sequel is being fasttracked.
