Sorority Row
Sorority Row is more than just a slasher movie. Perhaps it is a lesson in picking friends. When Theta Pi sisters decide to stick together and cover up an accidental death, things only get worse when a slasher comes after them.
Briana Evigan Parties on Sorority Row
“I could definitely say that,” Evigan said of my theory. “I don't know, I never like to surround myself with girls like Cassidy does in this film but yeah, you’ve got to watch your back, hopefully not screw up as big as they did. But, it’s hard. It’s really hard making friends. It’s hard to trust people, especially in this business. You just never know. It can take you to the wrong place.”
Cassidy wants to do the right thing, but the sisters bury incriminating evidence with the body. “Well, I also get framed in the beginning. When they throw the jacket down, they say, ‘We wrapped her in your bloody jacket’ so from then on, I don’t really have a choice. I could go to the police and say, ‘They wrapped her in my jacket.’ So I think for her too, she does follow the honest thing so much that she wants to stick with them hoping that everything’ll turn out okay.”

Jessica (Leah Pipes) is the ringleader of the Theta Pis. Her bitch inspired Evigan to consider taking that role on herself. “Watching her is what made me think that I could play this. Before this film when I read it, couldn’t picture myself as Jessica. Really watching her and kind of learning from her, I learned a lot from Leah Pipes. I would love to play this role. It would take me a lot of time and work to do it, but I would absolutely love to do something like that.”
Being the good one to Cassidy really only means she’s the one that wanted to not cover up the death, but oh well. “I got an offer on the role for Cassidy and I think they were kind of basing things somewhat of off Step Up 2 in the streets kind of girl, the nice girl even though it’s the kind of ghetto girl in that film. But I think they got the nice, sweet innocence from that role and was hoping that I would be able to do it in this one. Once I met Stewart, I think he figured out that Cassidy’s a lot like me. Easygoing and nice and want good for people and don’t want to do anything wrong. The last thing I ever want to do is hurt someone’s feelings. So when he saw all that, he was like, ‘Okay, this is good. It’s going to be pretty straightforward for you though.’”
