After a bit of a hunt, Walt Disney Pictures has selected Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi to provide the lead voices in their, wait for it, Digital 3D-animated musical action-adventure Rapunzel.
Zachary Levi, Mandy Moore for Rapunzel
Zachary Levi, who everybody should know from Chuck, has been cast as the dashing bandit who finds himself on the road with the rebellious, teenage hair apparent.
Directed by Byron Howard and Nathan Greno, the latest script for Rapunzel picks up with the princess, famous for her 70 feet of golden hair, after she's been stolen from her parents' castle as an infant and imprisoned. Now a teenager, Rapunzel escapes and goes on the run with a bandit as her captor pursues them.
Since it is Disney, we can expect some classical music. For the task, the studio has hired multiple Oscar-winner Alan Menken, who can be heard in films such as Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. And speaking of Aladdin, have you see this guy?
