Diablo Cody
First off - Can I just point out how much hotter Diablo Cody looks with her new, chopped-blonde haircut? Very nice! But I digress...
After unleashing a man-eating demon on an unsuspecting high school in Jennifer's Body, Diablo Cody is ready to return to the institution of learning, but in a different manner. The scribe has agreed to write and produce an adaptation of the book series Sweet Valley High for Universal.
Diablo Cody Writing Sweet Valley High
Universal was up against Fox for the project and ended up coming out on top with the highest bid. The Sweet Valley High novels followed the lives of identical twins with dissimilar personalities -- the sensitive and practical Elizabeth and the flighty and boy-crazy Jessica -- in the fictional town of Sweet Valley. Now, when it comes to franchises, these books definitely have potential. Between 1983 and 2003 there have been more than 150 books in the series plus a TV series that aired 88 episodes between 1994 and 1997.
According to Universal, this is the last wad of cash their blowing on a new project for the rest of 2009. Unless, of course, they find something really cool before then.
