Only in Hollywood could Amanda Seyfried play the dorky friend. In Jennifer's Body, she is the mousy BFF of the title character, a high school demon who eats boys. Seyfried is a good enough actor to pull it off, but she’s still really pretty.
Amanda Seyfried Talks Jennifer's Body
“Listen, I’ve never had enough self confidence to describe myself as pretty so I feel like I fit right into the character,” Seyfried said. “Some journalists don’t and I read that they think I’m beautiful and hey, that’s cool.”
That would be me. I’m sorry, I still think you’re pretty. “Thanks. Listen, I can put makeup on and feel pretty but I want people to believe me as that character because if I can just jump into anybody, I can play anything. It’s better not to be limited.”
Seyfried’s character goes crazy when she sees her friend commit murder. That was an exhausting state for Seyfried to play for two months. “Yeah, it’s definitely exhausting. Thank you for asking. You just get tired because you’re breathing heavy and you’re screaming. There’s a lot, it’s a lot of exhaustion but it’s worth it. There’s always something going on. Some days would be easier than others but it’s hard. I’d do it again in a heartbeat but I was tired after.”
Luckily, she could wind down with all her costars. “We did have separate lives. Some would come and go depending on who worked. I was there all the time but honestly I can’t remember a night where we didn’t come home from work, no matter how late it was, and not have a drink.”
