Viola Davis is adding some density to her schedule by landing roles in both Trust, the David Schwimmer-helmed drama from Millennium Films, and Focus Features' It's Kind of a Funny Story.
Viola Davis for Trust and It's Kind of a Funny Story
Starring Zach Galifianakis, It's Kind of a Funny Story centers on a clinically depressed 15-year-old who checks himself into an adult psychiatric ward where he gains a new lease on life. Davis will play the psychiatrist who helps him understand his anxieties and provides him with the help he needs.
Turning to drama, Trust revolves around a family who must deal with the ramifications after their 14-year-old daughter is victimized by an adult who gained her trust posing as a teenager on a chat room. Davis will play the counselor assigned to the girl’s case. Clive Owen and Catherine Keener were cast for the title roles a little over a week ago.
If you're craving some Viola, you can currently see the actress in Law Abiding Citizen. If that's a bit too violent, run out and get Doubt, where she plays a minor but powerful role.
