The Beatles Rock Band
Over the holidays, I downloaded the three full Beatles albums now available for The Beatles Rock Band. Since most of the hits from these albums are already in the game, it mainly gives you access to B-sides, which have advantages musically and just for die hard non-mainstream fans.
The Beatles Rock Band: DLC
The less popular songs may be where you get the more interesting note combinations, chords and rhythms to try to beat. I still think you need to have the guitar on expert or it’s just too easy, but on that setting you get some interesting hammers and chords.
The “Abbey Road” medley is a good way to sample all the songs from that album, though it’s less of a medley and more of just a string of all the songs together. I had to quit after 15 minutes! They seem to have coordinated the backgrounds to the new tracks still. It gets trippier for certain songs, although that might just be a coincidence.
I’m still waiting for certain hits. I want to sing and strum “Help” and it’s not there yet. But any extra content is always appreciated, and three seminal Beatles albums make a good addition to the Rock Band game. At least we’ve got the reprise of “Sgt. Pepper” now.
