How does Danny Boyle expect to follow-up Slumdog Millionaire? By taking us up a mountain. Fortunately Fox Searchlight has got his back and James Franco has been picked up to lead the expedition.
James Franco for 127 Hours
Directed by Boyle off a script by Simon Beaufoy, 127 Hours is the true-life story of Aron Ralston, who spent five days with his right forearm pinned under a boulder during a climb in May 2003. He used a dull knife to amputate the limb, then scaled a 65-foot sheer wall and hiked out before flagging a family that gave him water and food. He was finally rescued by helicopter.
Franco will star is Ralston.
The film will begin production this March with hopes of making it to theaters before the end of the year.
