English-language remakes are becoming the new fad. Before we know it, they'll be more popular than comicbook adaptations. But, for now, Mandate International is hoping to get the ball rolling on a English version of L.O.L: Laughing Out Loud. To show that they mean business, the studio has both Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore orbiting the project.

Original helmer Lisa Azuelos-Alessandrin will write and direct the remake of his very own L.O.L. Why the rest of the title is necessary, I don't really know.
L.O.L.: Laughing Out Loud tells the story of a 15-year-old girl who, dumped by her more sexually experienced boyfriend, sets her sights on his best friend. At the same time, her 40-year-old divorcee mother is struggling to move on with her life. The fraught relationship between mother and daughter provides the film with its narrative backbone, along with the younger generation's obsession with instant messaging.
The French version was considered a hit with $20 million in revenues and starred Sophie Marceau and Christa Theret.
