Here's an interesting rumor that will likely become official news later this week. Deadline reports that a possible Spielberg project all about George Gershwin currently has its title star training for the gig. Who you ask? Who about Spock? Still don't know. Heroes' Sylar? Still no idea?
First, smack yourself, and second, it's Zachary Quinto.
Zachary Quinto (and Spielberg?) for George Gershwin Biopic
Deadline claims that Zachary Quinto is at the center of the George Gershwin biopic.
It’s Zachary Quinto -- Sylar in the NBC drama-fantasy Heroes, and Spock in the JJ Abrams-directed megapic Star Trek. Quinto will play the famed composer and pianist, who with brother Ira was responsible for more than a dozen Broadway shows before dying at 38. DreamWorks is even supplying accent and dialogue coaches for Quinto, and shooting could begin as soon as April.
The film will be based off a script by Doug Wright. There has been no commitment from Spielberg just yet, but he is anxious to get back to work. Expect to hear more soon enough.
