Fox has announced that they plan to make a 24 movie and this time it won't be a made-for-television event.
24 Movie Coming
20th Century Fox has hired scribe Billy Ray -- think State of Play -- to pen the script for the feature version. The only catch is that I can't imagine the film being 24, but rather 2 or 2.5.
Ray's pitch, which takes Jack Bauer to Europe, was a hit with Fox execs and producers of the high-concept television series. Jack Bauer himself, Kiefer Sutherland, has supposedly also heard the pitch, and is anxious to get the series into a feature film.
Fox attempted to push the series into a feature film before, but the idea of filming both a series and a film at the same time posed daunting challenges. Now that it looks like the show's ninth season will be its last, a window of opportunity is quickly becoming available.
