National Lampoon's Vacation
Remember that commercial during the Super Bowl that hinted at another Vacation installment? Well, the feedback must have been good, as New Line is now looking to reboot the franchise. But what about the Griswold family?
Vacation Reboot Coming
New Line has hired Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley to write a new installment for Vacation. This won't be a sequel, however, as the franchise already has four installments that kicked off way back in 1983.
The latest project, which will no longer carry the National Lampoon credit, is being described as more of an update than a sequel and will be closer in tone to Planes, Trains and Automobiles. If you have not seen that, smack yourself, and then thick of a lot of shenanigans on the open road.
Story will focus on Rusty Griswold, now a grown man, who decides to take his own wife and kids on a road trip to Wally World before it closes forever. Chase is expected to reprise his role as Clark Griswold, now a grandfather.
