Though Edge of Darkness didn't do all that amazing, can we still officially call Mel Gibson back? Doesn't seem to matter, as his upcoming actioner, How I Spent My Summer Vacation, is starting to sell well in the international markets.

Icon Entertainment Sells Off How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Icon Entertainment has completed multiple sales on How I Spent My Summer Vacation, the actioner starring Mel Gibson. Covering most of Europe, Icon has closed deals with the Telemunchen for Germany, Eagle for Italy, Metropolitan for France, Paradiso for Benelux, Revolutionary Releasing for Eastern Europe, Svensk for Scandinavia, Odeon for Greece, Ascot Elite for Switzerland, Lusomundo for Portugal, and Fida for Turkey. Nu Metro picked up Summer Vacation for South Africa while Prime Pictures snagged it for the Middle East. Deals also were closed with Pioneer for Philippines, PT Amero for Indonesia, SSG for Taiwan and Sahamongkolfilm for Thailand.

Directed by Adrian Grunberg off a script by Gibson, Grunberg and Stacy Perskie, Summer Vacation follows a career criminal who is sent to a vicious Mexican prison where he has learn to survive any way he can.

Things are looking good for Gibson and Vacation, leaving only one thing: The beginning of production.
