Alice in Wonderland
Got a double-update coming your way for Alice in Wonderland. On a serious note, UK exhibitor Odeon is sticking to its threat of not playing the film as long as Disney continues to be, what's the word, theatrical douches about the shortened timeframe. To conclude with some fun, be sure to check out the new clip for the film below.
Alice in Wonderland Boycott and Clip
Disney should take Odeon's threat seriously, as the company is the UK's largest exhibitor. Just as icing on the cake, the exhib won't play Alice in Wonderland in theaters it operates in Ireland and Italy. And the problems aren't remaining overseas.
When it comes to the domestic exhibitors, Regal Entertainment is the only one of three to confirm showings of Alice come March 5th. While the assumption is that the domestic distributors will eventually all get on board with Disney, Odean is making sure to remind Disney that the shortened theatrical run of three months is unacceptable.
"The negative impact on cinema attendance that such a reduction in the window will have will threaten the continued existence of many cinemas, especially the smaller and medium-sized cinemas," Odeon reps said in a statement.
On that note, to lighten the mood, here's that new clip thanks to TrailerAddict.
