Considering that I've been a huge fan of Ian McShane ever since he started giving me the chills while making me laugh in Deadwood, I couldn't be happier to hear that Disney is considering him for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

If he takes the gig, McShane would play Blackbeard, the infamous pirate and villain in the pic that Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow will have to face off against as he seeks out the Fountain of Youth.
If you've been keeping up with the Pirates casting, then you already know that Penelope Cruz is also in negotiations to pick up a role.
Rob Marshall will direct Pirates 4 from a script by Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott.
