Steve Martin
Steve Martin could be having a big year, both literally and figuratively. Kicking things off by co-hosting the Oscars, the actor is now in negotiations with Fox 2000 to join the comedy The Big Year.
Steve Martin in Talks for The Big Year
If he agrees to whatever is on the table, Steve Martin will join Jack Black and Owen Wilson in The Big Year. Directed by David Frankel, the comedy is about three men who try to outdo each other in a bird-watching competition to spot the rarest birds in North America. The rivalry is an allegory for the challenges each faces in his own life.
Scribe Howard Franklin based the screenplay on the 1998 book "The Big Year: A Tale of Man, Nature and Fowl Obsession," by author Mark Obmascik.
The film is expected to enter production this May in Canada.
