Blah blah blah - Who knew the title of Ke$ha’s performance, would be how I felt about most of the results show. Ryan reminded us of the dreaded Judges’ Save and the fact it could be played until the Top 5. Holy Matt Gerard, I had totally put it out of my mind. Now remember the decision must be unanimous (better known as whatever Simon says).

American Idol: Season 9 Top 12 Results

Truly, 30 minutes is enough for these results shows. But what would Fox do with the other half hour? How about a 30 minute concert each week from a former Idol? I also do not understand why the results shows don’t air at 8 p.m. (ET) instead of 9 p.m. This would be far more family friendly. I digress – on to the show.

Season 7 Idol, David Cook, rocked out The Stones’ “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”. He reported he is excitedly working on a new album. David will also serve as an AI ambassador to Africa for Idol Gives Back. Always love seeing Cookie.

Next up, the Ford commercial featured the contestants performing “Tick Tick Boom”. The idols then worked with Ford graphic artists and designed their own Fiesta. Viewers will be able to win one.

The camera showed the obligatory shot of the stools of shame. Ryan said dim the lights and had Paige Miles stand. Since she was the first up you think she is safe, but she is the first in the Bottom 3. Deemed safe were Lee Dewyze, Siobhan Magnus and Aaron Kelley. Now Andrew Garcia and Tim Urban stood. Andrew was declared safe and Tim added to the Bottom 3.

Orianthi performed her new single “According to You”. She was so incredible in Michael Jackson’s “This Is It”. Orianthi is such a gifted guitarist; perhaps she should forget the singing.

Again, dim the lights and given safety were Didi Benami, Crystal Bowersox, Katie Stevens and Michael Lynche. Ryan has Casey James and Lacey Brown stand. Lacey is added to the Bottom 3. When asked by Ryan about “the save”, Simon replied one of them might be worth saving. Tim Urban was sent back to safety.

Ke$ha ‘sang’ her new single “Blah Blah Blah”. She worked a Lady GaGaesque look. The performance quality was lacking. Contestants this was an example of what not to do.

Lacey Brown was the first eliminated. After she sang for the save (they are letting the contestants choose which of their performances to reprise- she chose “The Story”), the judges opted not to exercise their save.

Were you on board with the Bottom 3? They were mine. Will Crystal and Siobhan continue to dominate or will a new front runner emerge? American Idol performances Tuesday – results Wednesday on Fox.
