It turns out that Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel weren't blowing smoke. Their mention of a Laverne & Shirley remake or reimagining at the Valentine's Day premiere turned out having some fact behind it, and they have a co-star backing them up.
Laverne & Shirley Remake Coming
TV Guide has learned from Garry Marshall that a reimagining for Laverne & Shirley is definitely in the works, and Jamie Foxx is writing the screenplay.
“Jamie and I are trying to do it,” Garry confirms. “He’s writing it. It’s a whole different modern day take on how they came up on the streets during difficult times. Laverne would be this very tough girl with a big ‘L’ tattooed on her arm. Jennifer Garner would play Laverne and Jessica Biel would play Shirley.” (Funny... I kinda see it the other way around.)
Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel playing Laverne and Shirley? Well, I have no interest in the characters, but at least they'll be hot now.
