Taylor Kitsch
Taylor Kitsch has been doing well for himself in terms of landing gigs in tentpole films. A little stint as Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine has lead to other major tentpoles with the latest being Battleship.
Taylor Kitsch for Battleship
While the film is based on the Hasbro board game, Universal is switching things up by adding an alien element to the story. Yeah, I know, sounds weird, but I guess it was hard to decide which countries fleets would battle one another without upsetting some sect of people. So instead Pete Berg will direct a film that sees an international fleet come together to battle a water-bound armada of otherworldly origin.
No matter how strange the story sounds, Taylor Kitsch has to be thrilled with his involvement; and continued rise to fame. Though Jeremy Renner was once expected to topline the adaptation, scheduling conflicts forced him to drop out. Instead, Kitsch will play a Naval commander named Alex Hopper, described as "wildly spirited" and "a great seaman but a lousy politician."
