The Avengers
Marvel Entertainment continues to land big talent with the addition of Joss Whedon. The director has been picked up to helm The Avengers.
Joss Whedon to Direct The Avengers
Whedon will also edit the script from Zak Penn. The director has been close to directing a superhero pic before, with Wonder Woman falling through thanks to creative differences over at Warner Bros. If all goes to plan, The Avengers will bring back Robert Downey Jr. (as Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Hemsworth (Thor) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury). What about The Hulk? Well, Edward Norton has been iffy of late, but expect Marvel to put some extra pressure on him when the time comes.
Marvel's release schedule is set.
Iron Man 2 arrives May 7th, then comes Thor on May 6th, 2011, and after that The First Avenger: Captain America on July 22nd of the same year. With all the pieces now in place, The Avengers will bring it all together on May 4th, 2012.
