I guess when you're an indie studio looking to convey an action movie, Deathgames makes a good title. While I'm originally not impressed, the cast selection does peak my interest.
Samuel L. Jackson and Kellan Lutz in Negotiations for Deathgames
Motion Picture Corporation of America is in talks wtih Samuel L. Jackson and Kellan Lutz to star in Deathgames. The directorial debut of visual effect supervisor Jonah Loop, Deathgames centers on a young man (Lutz) who is kidnapped and forced into the savage world of a modern gladiator arena, where men fight to the death for entertainment of the online masses. Loop polised the script from Michael Hultquist, Robert Martinez and Tony Giglio.
The film will be the first project to come out of MPCA's $50 million film fund. That does not mean the production house doesn't have experience, however, as this was the same group behind HBO's Taking Chance.
