Matthew McConaughey has another gig, and this one is (amazingly) not a rom-com. Lionsgate has acquired the distribution rights to Michael Connelly's best-selling tome, The Lincoln Lawyer with McConaughey onboard to play the title character.
Lionsgate's Lincoln Lawer
Directed by Brad Furman off a screenplay by John Romano, The Lincoln Lawyer revolves around moderately successful criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller, who operates out of the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car. Haller has spent most of his career defending garden-variety criminals, until he lands the case of a lifetime: Representing a Beverly Hills playboy accused of murder. The case, however, turns into a deadly game of survival for Haller.
The supporting cast is already impressive with names like Marisa Tomei, Ryan Phillippe, William H. Macy, Michael Pena, Trace Adkins and Katherine Moennig on the callsheet as well.
Though Lionsgate does not have a release date, the film is set to enter production this July.
