The Ring
While I accuse Warner Bros. of exploiting the 3D medium for crap attempts at making more money, Paramount is also starting to get a bit crazy on the medium. I am glad to see, however, that they are at least thinking ahead. The studio has announced that they are moving ahead with another installment for The Ring, creatively titled Ring 3D.
Ring 3D Coming
Paramount has hired David Loucka to pen the script.
Though the first installment centered on a young journalist investigating a mysterious videotape that seemed to cause the death of anyone within a week of viewing it, the new installment will switch the target audience by being more teen-centric than the first in order to reinvent the franchise.
Interesting that the studio is already "reinventing" this. I guess that just means "reimagining for something less than two decades old." Paramount is currently seeking a director.
