While I would have assumed that Sony's decision to push The Zookeeper back from October, 2010, to July 8, 2011 meant that the studio is not happy with what it's seeing from the project and wants more time to polish it up, it would seem that couldn't be further from the truth.
Pushing The Zookeeper
Why would Sony do such a push? Well, it turns out that a recent research screening of the film yielded positive results, and now the studio thinks The Zookeeper could kill it at the box office if released during the summer window. Or, as Sony distrib topper Rory Bruer puts it, "a big compliment to our summer."
Directed by Frank Coraci, Zookeeper tells the story of a lonely employee (James) who begins to hear romantic advice from the caged animals at the zoo. Sandler, Sylvestor Stallone, Cher and Jon Favreau voice the animals in the pic.
