First Bryan Singer (months back) and now Matthew Vaughn is in talks with 20th Century Fox to direct X-Men: First Class!
X-Men: First Class Courting Matthew Vaughn
Vaughn is becoming top sh*t. I've been a fan of the dude ever since Layer Cake, loved Stardust, am stoked on Kick-Ass, and look forward to anything else he gets behind the camera for. As a bit of irony, Vaughn was once attached to direct X-Men: The Last Stand, but ended up bailing on that because he didn't want to move his family to Vancouver. The film ended up turning out, well, okay I guess.
X-Men: First Class is a prequel and explores the friendship between Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto as they open a school for mutants. But their diametrically opposite points of view have powerful ramifications for the school--and the world.
