I don't care what people say, I loved Transformers 2. Sure, it had the cheese factor, but it was still loaded with everything I want from a popcorn movie. I henceforth am curious to see what Bay tries to do for Transformers 3, which has just landed itself Patrick Dempsey of all people.

While in Brazil -- the ladies are beautiful down there, fyi -- Dempsey revealed to reporters that he begins lensing Transformers 3 this summer and that he'll play a "darker character" in the sequel.
If the production start does come as a bit of a surprise to you, remember that Paramount is hoping to get this installment in theaters by July 1, 2011. Not a lot of time for a Michael Bay explosion movie.
