Cameron Crowe saw an open window become available on his to-do list, causing speculation on what the director might do next. 20th Century Fox figured they'd give an answer to speculators by hiring Crowe to direct We Bought a Zoo.
Cameron Crowe to Direct We Bought a Zoo
Penned by Aline Brosh McKenna, We Bought a Zoo is based on Benjamin Mee's memoir, which centers on a widowed father who buys a dilapidated zoo in hopes of making a fresh start. He and his children, along with a small but loyal staff, work to get the zoo reopened.
Crowe is putting his own touches on the script as we speak, with the film expected to hit theaters on December 23, 2011.
