Mr. and Mrs. Smith
It has taken some time to discover this, but I have discovered that I am one of the few out there that greatly enjoyed Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The comedy was strong, the action was fun, and Angelina Jolie never looked better. My God did she look stunning!
So what wasn't to like?
I can't answer that, but I do know many who don't feel the same way about the film; though they do admit to watching it every time it is on HBO. Either way, it looks like ABC is in some agreement, as they have greenlit a spin-off series.
ABC Gives Mr. & Mrs. Smith the Green Light
ABC has given the green light to Mr. & Mrs. Smith, a one-hour pilot based on the feature film.
Simon Kinberg -- who wrote the feature film mind you -- penned the pilot script, which returns to the story of John and Jane Smith, a married couple who live dual lives as assassins.
Kinberg describes the series as, "Married... With Children with guns."
The pilot will take place six months after the events shown in the film. The Smiths have purchased a new house because -- if you remember -- their old one blew up. After replanting themselves in a new suburb, the two both reestablish their practices and again find that their sexual spark has dwindled. That's right folks, the television series will return to the couple's marital issues.
"In a way, the show is all about the marriage," Kinberg said. "It is a show about any married couple trying to balance professional and home life."
