Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Adult Swim is moving quickly with a feature version of their surreal animated series Aqua Teen Hunger Force. With a running time of 86 minutes, First Look Pictures has picked the animation up for a March release at more than 800 playdates.
Feature Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Written, produced and directed by co-creators Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis, the theatrical release of Aqua Teen Hunger Force marks First Look Pictures' first try at animation as well as Adult Swim's first feature under the Williams Street banner.
The film centers on the origins of "Hunger Force" characters Meatwad, Frylock and Master Shake and an immortal piece of exercise equipment threatening the balance of galactic peace.
"It was too big a story to do in 11 minutes," Willis told Daily Variety. "It's based on our fear of exercise equipment."
Aqua Teen Hunger Force has aired more than sixty episodes since its launch on September 2001; the same time Adult Swim launched.
