Norbit Tries Again for PG-13

Norbit Norbit
A while back the MPAA announced that having a fat woman on screen -- even though not a woman at all -- was worthy of an R rating. R rating for a comedy? The only time this works at the box office is when you have Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson in the lead roles. Well, that and a few pairs of titties just to be sure.

DreamWorks/Paramount know that the adult rating could significantly hurt Norbit at the box office and have therefore decided to try again with the MPAA to secure a PG-13 rating.

Norbit Wants PG-13

One of the great hypocrisies of the MPAA is that it is as subjective as any college admissions board. Well, that and the fact that watching somebody take a bullet to the head could be acceptable for kids thirteen years and older but a nipple slip or anything involving the word 'sex' is limited to seventeen and above. I'm tired of this sexual censorship, I want orange juice commercials with boobies! Ok, Ok, maybe that is a little much, but I find it hard to believe that Norbit is bad enough to be called "R". Is there an "F" word in the film? Then remove that mother f*@ker!

Paramount has agree do resubmit the film, but they have yet to make any changes to it. If the R-rating remains on the film's radar, the studio will be forced to make some changes to Norbit. That or they should at least add some boobies to make the film a worthy R.

Just a thought.

Norbit opens to theatres on February 9th, 2007.
