A couple weeks back we pointed out an interview between Sam Raimi and Premiere for Spider-Man 3. In the most recent issue, Sam Raimi spends a good deal of time discussing "Spider-Man 3 secrets." What we failed to catch was that the director ended the conversation with little tidbits on Spider-Man 4.

Though the cast is currently playing the contract game for another installment of Spider-Man, Sam Raimi claims that he is ready for another installment. "I'm sure they'll keep making Spider-Man pictures," says Raimi, who has signed up for each one individually. Since the arrival of Spider-Man 3 to theaters will be like the second coming in Hollywood, Sony is also (obviously) game for future installments.

"Amy [Pascal, Sony cochairman] told me that she would. I [Sam Raimi] love Spider-Man."

But who can we expect to return? A recent rumor has been floating around the web claiming that either Mary Jane or Gwen Stacy will die in Spider-Man 3. Now, this is just a rumor, but we immediately assumed the only way this rumor could be true is if it was Stacy who died. The character dies in the comicbooks and, therefore, should meet her end in the films. The only problem is that Raimi let slip that Bryce Dallas Howard would likely be back for a fourth installment.

Raimi had this to say on returning cast: "And I love working with Kirsten, Tobey, James. I don't know if Thomas and Topher will be around in the next one, but probably Bryce will be. But I have to make sure that when I'm done with this picture I'm really still fascinated with the character. At this moment I'm fascinated with him."

Gwen Stacy lives?! Than that would mean... No way.

Could the Spider-Man franchise survive if Tobey Maguire did not renew his contract?

"No, I couldn't imagine it."

Check out the full report with Sam Raimi over at Premiere.

Spider-Man 3 opens to theatres on May 4th, 2007.
