With Live Free or Die Hard due out this year I can't help but think of the villain that started it all -- Hans. Played by a younger and might I add more petite Alan Rickman, Hans was absolute genius. Rickman has gone on to create other memorable characters including Professor Snape from the Harry Potter franchise and Alexander Dane. You know, Galaxy Quest.
Rickman is now up to play yet another memorable character in Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd.

Alan Rickman will join Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen in Tim Burton's ensemble musical Sweeney Todd.
Based on the macabre Stephen Sondheim Broadway musical, Sweeney Todd centers on Benjamin Barker (Depp), a man unjustly imprisoned by a lecherous judge (Rickman). Barker returns as barber Sweeney Todd and exacts revenge.
John Logan penned the big-screen adaptation.
Rickman is no stranger to the stage with two Tony nominations.
DreamWorks will handle domestic distribution of the film while Warner Bros will distribute internationally.
