Smokin' Aces
Universal Pictures has loaded their guns and have picked up two big media sites -- YouTube and MySpace -- to put official profiles on for Smokin'
Aces.
Smokin' Aces Across the Net
Right on the front page of YouTube is a clip advertisement for Smokin' Aces that points you to the 'SmokinAcesMovie' profile filled with, well, not much just yet. Besides the clip and the trailer (who wants to watch that in flash?), the YouTube profile is lacking. The only perk at the moment is the fact that the clip features a nice little introduction from Joe Carnahan.
Next we head on over to MySpace to meet barely-drinking-age ladies while making friends on the side. One such friend, if you could have guessed, is Buddy "Aces" Israel.
The name's Buddy Israel. Friends call me "Aces." I'm the 5 time "Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year" but save the small talk for someone who cares - I'm not your "friend." Although, I am personally inviting you to come witness my stage act, and to add me as a "friend" here, that's about as close as we should get (unless you are a 6' blond Amazon with rockets that point to the sky and weight commensurate with your height). Getting too close can be dangerous for your health. Pick a card, any card...
The MySpace profile is so much better than YouTube and even comes packaged with one mini-image that I can only assume will become a 'rejected' character poster shortly.
Last, and probably least, is the Assassination contest over at Machinima for Smokin' Aces. For those of you who play Counter Strike or any other game that involves killing opponents online, you have got to record your best sprees and submit your videos to win some serious cash.
Geeky, yes, but damn cool too. I'm getting involved with this one, so expect my compilation video (from Counter Strike) shortly.
Smokin' Aces opens on January 26th.
