Snakes on a Plane DVD Review

Snakes on a Plane
The most important movie of last year actually arrived a week late. Then I took another week to review it. And I'm the motherf*ckin' quote on the motherf*ckin' box! I actually said "Fast paced edge of your seat thrill ride" as a joke about the generic cliché quote, but hey, there's no better DVD box to be on than Snakes on a Plane.
DVD Review: Snakes on a Plane
I was really hoping the "Snakes on a Blog" fan piece would include the entire reel shown at Comic-Con with all the best parodies. It did not. There are snippets of good ones like "Snakes on a Home Birth" and you can freeze frame on some montages, but it's not the 10 minute love letter that played to the fans. It's a more straightforward documentary on the internet hype.
The deleted/extended scenes are mostly minor extensions of existing scenes. There's no really big snake action. It would have been interesting to see the PG-13 versions of certain scenes, but these are just some Eddie Kim nudity, A-hole passenger complaints and Sam Jackson flirting.
The gag reel is a delight though. Everyone seems to take turns overacting and mugging in full melodrama. This proves they all got into the hype and knew exactly what they were making.
There are plenty of straightforward featurettes too. The "Making of" is elevated above standard hype because they are talking about Snakes on a Plane with a straight face. You can see the snake wrangler and the visual effects.
Stay tuned for updates.
