Dwayne Johnson and Terence Stamp to Get Smart
Warner Bros Pictures has picked up Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Terence Stamp to join the cast of Get Smart. Just in case you are a dunce, the 'cast' I speak of is funnyman Steve Carell and "not afraid to show off the goods" Anne Hathaway.
Peter Segal will direct the remake.
Based on the 1965 sitcom from Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, Dwayne Johnson will board as a new character -- Agent 23. Probably a long lost relative to Hitman's Agent 47. Stamp's character is a little more generic at the moment with his character currently being called an 'evil leader.'
Very creative.
Scribes Tom Astle and Matt Ember wrote the script for the update Get Smart.
"What made the original unique was it took place in the Cold War era and skewered the political landscape," Segal said. "We're trying to embrace that spirit, and there is certainly a lot to skewer politically today."
Get Smart will enter production on February 3rd in L.A., D.C. and then a jump out of the country to Moscow. Segal hopes filming will wrap by July.
