What a sneaky monkey. After telling fans a few days back that reports of his possible involvement on the Hitman adaptation had been exaggerated, 20th Century Fox now comes out of nowhere to announce that Timothy Olyphant is Agent 47.
Timothy Olyphant Confirmed as Hitman
I know you didn't want to, but it is time we start doing it. Doing what you ask? Imagining Timothy Olyphant without his boyish hair. Now that Fox has signed the actor to play Agent 47 in Hitman, we should expect to see him hairless shortly. If Fox tries to get away with only a buzz cut we may have to put a contract out on them. This is Agent 47!
Since Fox's last possible franchise didn't flush out (*cough* Eragon), the studio is hoping that Hitman will become just that. To be safe, Olyphant's deal allows for multiple sequels.
Skip Woods' script is based on the Hitman videogame franchise set in the world of Agent 47, a genetically engineered assassin.
Olyphant can currently be seen on HBO OnDemand with the series Deadwood; he plays one hell of a fine American. You can also see him in the thriller sequel Live Free or Die Hard.
Luc Besson will produce Hitman, which is expected to enter production this March in Europe. That gives Olyphant just under two months to become a hairless killer.
