Whoever was in charge of getting films to come to The Berlin Intl. Film Festival did a wonderful job. The eleven-day event taking place between February 8th and February 18th will feature 26 films with 19 world premieres. Among all the attractions, the biggest of them has to be 300.
Berlin Intl. Film Festival Line-Up: 300
Though we still don't know an exact date or time, Warner Bros' 300 will have its world premiere at The Berlin Intl. Film Festival.
Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller’s (Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale.
Other films to appear at the festival include Notes on a Scandal, Hallam Foe, Angel, Solo por hoy, El Orto, Beau-fort, Hyazgar, Tu ya de hun shi, Ping Guo and, if I do the math, 16 others.
Stay tuned for a date and time for 300.
300 opens to theatres on March 9th, 2007.
