Though the purchase of Grace is Gone by The Weinstein Company was announced yesterday, the studio has sent over their official release.
Weinstein Acquires Grace is Gone
The Weinstein Company is pleased to announce that they have acquired worldwide distribution rights to the heartfelt drama Grace is Gone starring John Cusack, Alessandro Nivola, Shelan O'Keefe and Gracie Bednarczyk, which made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival. James C. Strouse wrote the screenplay and makes his directorial debut with Grace is Gone. The film was produced by Cusack's New Crime Productions and Plum Pictures. John Cusack, Galt Niederhoffer, Grace Loh, Celine Rattray, Daniela Taplin Lundberg served as producers. The film is currently screening in competition at the Sundance Film Festival. The announcement was made today by Harvey Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company.
Grace is Gone is a heart-wrenching drama about a young father (John Cusack) whose soldier wife has just been killed in Iraq. Rather than tell his two daughters the news, he decides to take them on a cross-country road trip to an amusement park. The story was inspired by a similar trip Strouse made with his older brother and his two children several years ago.

I also just did a film called 1408 with Bob Weinstein for Dimension -- it will come out this summer and I'm incredibly proud of it."
James Strouse stated, "I couldn't be happier. This was a film made with a lot of love and care and it's in the right hands to really get out there and connect with people across the country now. The Weinstein company is the perfect place for this film."
