Prey
This thriller is another one of those “paycheck” movies. Mortgages needed to be paid and Tom Brady sure wasn’t going to front for Bridget Moynahan’s payments. So she decided to do Prey. One doesn’t really need to know the setup of the movie which brings you to the gore fest; you just need to know that Moynahan, and her kids get stuck on a wild game reserve in Africa and Peter Weller (the husband) has to save them.
DVD Review: Prey
This movie does offer some of those moments where you think to yourself, “God, it WOULD be horrible to be eaten by lions.” But the movie goes a bit far as it seems as if every single lion in Africa can’t wait to feast on human flesh. Thank God for the peons that are hired to help find the family since they become “lambs to the slaughter” since we can’t exactly have Weller or Moynahan be ravaged
The end is something from the mind of a 11-year old kid without the knowledge of common sense but hey, we’re talking about Prey here. It’s a standard B rated thriller with not too many surprises and since we clearly know they are not using REAL lions and we didn’t have Peter Jackson’s team working the special effects, it is clear that these beasts are a bit too much computer generated which does take away from the effect.
Eh, there really isn’t much else to say, unfortunately.
Stay tuned for updates.
